Expected Dates for Purchase Orders -and sales Orders- are useful when one needs to track the future date a Purchase Order is expected to be received (or a Sales Order is expected to be shipped). To activate the Expected Dates, one may edit the Purchase Order template and enable to show the Expected Date option.
Once this option is enabled, a Purchase Order will display additional columns under the Product Details tab but also under the Custom Dates field:
The expected dates under the Product Details tab are information that can be automatically populated per product row. To populate this information, one must relate the product to a Supplier and set the Lead Times for that product for that supplier.
The Expected Date (Latest) field of the Purchase Order is actively taken into account in the Inventory Forecasting module so that the module knows in which forecasting period the products of the Purchase Order are expected to be received.
