The Product Description field should accommodate the description/name of the product. Products may share the same Product Description but have different SKU codes. In this case, a different Product Variant should be set.

  • The Product Description can accommodate up to 400 characters

The Product Variant (or version) can be used to distinguish between products that share the same Product Description but are slightly different (color, size, unit etc.). An example showing the use of the SKU code, the Product Description and the Product Variant is the following one:

  • SKU code: 00001

  • Product Description: Timberland Bootie

  • Product Variant: Brown/42-43
    ----------

  • SKU code: 00002

  • Product Description: Timberland Bootie

  • Product Variant: Brown/43-44

In the above example, “Timberland Bootie” is the common Product Description and “Brown /42-43” and “Brown/43-44” are the two different Product Versions (variants of the same Product). In this example, a character delimiter “/” is used to separate the color and size variants. The structure to use to create and categorize products is: Product Category > Product Description > Product Variant.

  • The Product Variant can accommodate up to 400 characters
