The QuickBooks – Megaventory integration connects the Megaventory entity Tax and the QuickBooks entity Sales Tax. There is also a 1-way sync of Discounts from Megaventory to QuickBooks.
When the user creates a tax in QuickBooks, a sales tax with the same information is created in QuickBooks.
When the user creates a tax/discount in Megaventory, an item of type service with the same name is created in QuickBooks. This is done in order to be able to apply taxes and discounts per line in QuickBooks.
In case of an edit, or a delete of an entity, there is an update and the changes pass to the other system.
You should not edit QuickBooks Items related to Taxes and Discounts. Edits or Deletions on QuickBooks Items related to Megaventory Taxes or Discounts are not synced.
Due to this asymmetry, it is suggested that you create and edit all taxes in QuickBooks. Discounts on the other hand can and should only be edited in Megaventory.
When a tax is created in QuickBooks
In QuickBooks there are two options for the taxes. The first is the single tax rate and the second the combined tax rate. When the first one is chosen, the QuickBooks field ‘rate’ is connected with the Megaventory field ‘percent’. In the second case, the sum of the several ‘rates’ in QuickBooks will be matched with the field ‘percent’ in Megaventory.
